Publication: Impact and mechanisms of drag-reducing polymers on shear stress regulation in pulmonary hypertension

In this article, Wang et al. used a BioFlux 200 shear flow system to test the impact of polyethylene oxide (PEO) on primary pulmonary artery endothelial cell on calcium production. The investigators found that PEO reduced Ca2 under low shear stress (1 dyn/cm2) suggesting that PEO may be a viable therapeutic method for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension.
