Publication: Standardized generation of human iPSC-derived hematopoietic organoids and macrophages utilizing a benchtop bioreactor platform under fully defined conditions

In this study, the CERO 3D Incubator & Bioreactor was used for the 3D generation of hematopoietic organoids to produce iPSC-derived macrophages. It presents a novel method for producing immune cells using a xeno-free and chemically defined bioreactor platform. The article specifically focuses on the continuous production of functionally and phenotypically relevant macrophages from 3D hematopoietic organoids generated from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC-Mac). The researchers demonstrate the ability to efficiently and continuously produce macrophages from three different iPSC lines with consistent and reproducible phenotypic and functional profiles. The produced iPSC-Mac can serve as a model for testing immunomodulatory drugs.
